Carl Priesendorf

Geology Professor. Paleontologist. Naturalist. Science Communicator.

Carl Priesendorf, a geology instructor at Metropolitan Community College-Longview, received his Masters in Geology from the University of Missouri in 1987. Prior to beginning his teaching career, Carl spent time working as an oil field geologist, state park naturalist, and as an archaeologist for the Missouri Department of Transportation. He specializes in invertebrate paleontology but has published research on an array of geological topics; his published works include a comprehensive trail log and guide to the geology of the Katy Trail. Carl has been interviewed in the New York Times and often speaks for museums, educational groups, and panels across the midwest.
